Stratos Time Lapse at Extra Life 2016

EXTRA LIFE 2016!!! That’s right this video was filmed 8 hours into our 24 hour marathon. We hadn’t quite become completely delusional but we were well on our way.

In this video we are playing Stratos, a Canadian born strategy game that we picked up at Comicpalooza this year. For a first attempt at a board game this game is pretty damn good. There are some legitimate complaints about how many small pieces are in the game. We have had a small peak at the expansion coming out soon which, fortunately, fixes some of these issues.

Stratos is a great game for those who are fairly new to the “next level” of board games. This game is just above Settelrs of Catan on level of complexity.

DON’T FORGET TO DONATE AND ENTER THE RAFFLE FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A COPY OF THIS GAME!!!

Warpod Changes, Featured Artist, Extra Life 2016 – Warlocks Update Oct. 2016

Warlocks has made some changes if you have not noticed. No more podcast and higher quality production just to name a couple. The most important things we talk about in this episode is our plans for Extra Life, which is right around the corner. If you have not heard of Extra Life click the link below to go to our team page. It is an awesome charity event that we have been participating in the last 3 years. Check out our website for more info. We have a raffle this year where you can win some very cool stuff for a minimum donation of $5.

Extra Life is Here!

It’s that beautiful time of year!

No, not pumpkin spice season. Although that is pretty magical in it’s own right.

It’s Extra Life season! Warlocks is pumped up more than ever for Extra Life this year. We have been wracking our brains for months trying to come up with the very best ideas to raise even more money for Texas Children’s Hospital and we think we did a pretty good job.

Before I tell you about our new ideas I’d like to remind you about why we are doing all of this.

extra-life_blue

Every year we commit ourselves to the ridiculous endeavor of playing games for 24 straight hours. It’s a ludicrous mission that brings us to the brink of insanity but we do it to draw attention to a cause greater than ourselves. We do it to help children who have been dealt an awful hand. Kids that are fighting a fight that many of us can’t relate to. These kids are fighting cancer, congenital defects, and serious injuries.

These kids need your help. So please consider giving a few bucks to this awesome charity.

Now, like I said before. All of this gaming marathon stuff is a tool to get your attention. We hope you come to Extra Life for the games but stay for the kids.

Keep reading to find out how we are getting your attention this year!

We are not streaming this year. Instead we are rocking the YouTube videos; quality, bad ass, attention grabbing videos. Attention grabbing in the best sense of the phrase. This is after all, about raising money for sick kids.

The idea behind the YouTube videos is that we can make them in October (our day of play is Oct. 22nd), edit them down to watchable portions, and share them through the month of November all while asking that you pitch in a donation. This approach keeps us from putting all our eggs in one basket during a stream on the official game day, and we think it’s a better way for us to be successful. This does not excuse us from gaming for a straight 24 hours. We are certainly doing the whole 24 hours starting on the morning of the 22nd of October.

At the bottom of this page there are links to all of our awesome sponsors and contributors. Check them out!
